Han Yangling Museum
Han Yangling Museum is built on the site of Jing Di Emperor’s Tomb to protect it and to while displaying Han culture Han Yangling Museum is located about 20 kilometers north of the ancient city Xi’an and enjoys the title of The Important Historical and Cultural Sites under State Protection. The striking discovery in 1990 drew much attention to Yangling from all over the world and the museum eventually opened to the public in 1999. The advanced concept and delicate display arrangement of the museum have earned it a good reputation from its peers in the field and it has been regarded as one of the Top 10 fine museums. It covers an area of 200 hectares, which makes the museum the largest archaeological ruins museum in China. In 2008, the HanYangling Museum received the title of Level A Museum. www.hylae.com

Shaanxi Archaeological Research Institute
Shaanxi Archaeological Research Institute, founded in October 1958, was once a department of Chinese Academy of Science. It was incorporated into Shaanxi Provincial Academy of Social Science in 1963 and in 1984 it was placed under the regimentation of the Cultural Relics Bureau of Shaanxi Province and received its current name in December 2006. It is the earliest and largest provincial- archaeological research organization in China. Among its responsibilities within Shaanxi Province are archaeological prospection and inspection, excavation, and research.
Presently, Shaanxi Archaeological Research Institute has finished thousands of key archaeological projects ranging from excavation of massive mausoleums to common tombs. It witnessed and experienced the excavation of millions of relics of different materials, such as gold and silver wares, bronze and wooden wares, jade, and silk, which brings considerable recognition from peers within their field.

The Museum of Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses
The Museum of the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses is a large archaeological museum built at the site of the attendant tomb, which is an exterior section of Qin Shi Huang’s mausoleum. The excavation and construction of No. 1 Pit was completed on October 1, 1979, while in 1989 No. 3 Pit was opened to the public. No. 2 Pit and the circular-screen theater were finished in 1994. In 1999 the Museum of Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses was formally listed as one UNESCO “World Heritage Site”. The Museum, covering an area of 40,000 square meters, possesses approximately 50,000 relics. The main responsibility of the Museum is to excavate the pits, to protect the painted bronze wares, and to preserve and exhibit the archaeological ruins. The Museum has been making an unremitting effort in the technological protection field, which has earned a good reputation at home and abroad. Xi’an Center for the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage
The Xi’an Center for the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage, located in the south suburb of this ancient city, was set up in the year of 1989; Shaanxi Technological Center for the Protection of Cultural Property was its predecessor. After more than a decade of development, it has established strong cooperation with Germany, Italy and Japan and currently possesses its own comprehensive protection center for cultural relics. |
